Keith, here is a picture I thought you might like. Ryan has a whole bunch of cool geological pictures here, some amazing cross bedded sandstone. I figured you would enjoy the photography, even if you are not into the geology.

Oops, forgot to mention … You really do need to get to Monument Valley someday. It is rather surreal, driving through the scenery where so many Westerns have been shot. You keep expecting to see the bad guys come galloping around the corner, guns blazing, with the posse in hot pursuit.
Don’t want to burst your bubble….but
Monument Valley is/was a strikingly beautiful place.
Now you have to look through the tour busses, tourists and junk being sold at the entrance road.
I have a photo of the point with about 100 tourists and tour busses in the foreground.
Remember if you are going to use your pix commercially, you have to pay and pay and pay.
